Book Presentation and Finissage

We cordially invite you to the finissage of the exhibition INDUSTRIAL RHAPSODY and book launch of FADE AWAY, the new photo book by Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek. Celebrate with us on Thursday, 25 January from 6 to 9 pm in the BlackBox with a talk by the curators as well as wine and tapas.

FADE AWAY: Hidden, faded and rusted, there are signs on the roadside that have lost their connection to reality in writing and associative images – as if they had been forgotten in the landscape. Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek has tracked down these out-of-time remnants in Ibiza and shows them in a poetic photo publication as a reminiscence of the past. A man in a hat hurries across the crosswalk, a girl with pigtails on her way to school, signs of restaurants that have long since closed, pictograms of cars that have long since been taken out of circulation: With her camera, Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek redeems Ibiza’s outdated signs from their state of being unnoticed. The photographs reveal both the humorous and artistic side that time and weather have left behind. A photographic gem about transience.
