Setup of Our New Exhibition
From 19 April, our new exhibition entitled The World in My Hand will be on display in the BlackBox of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung. The exhibition focuses on the smartphone as an omnipresent everyday object: since its invention in 2007, it has revolutionized our communication and media use within a very short space of time. It has become an indispensable part of our lives worldwide. How does the young generation of contemporary artists react to this everyday object?
The exhibition combines contemporary technology with social debates. Around 50 works – sculptures with glass and contemporary photography – by almost as many artists raise awareness of the positive as well as questionable effects of the constant presence of the smartphone in everyday life.
