Science funding

As part of its efforts to promote science, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung awards numerous scholarships each year, such as the Deutschlandstipendium. These scholarships enable early-career researchers to pursue their studies with greater peace of mind and also strengthen the local scientific and economic community in the long term.

This year’s Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung scholarship recipients’ day took place on 27 May at the foundation’s headquarters in Parkstadt Schwabing. In attendance were 27 doctoral candidates and students in materials science and engineering from various colleges and universities. These included the Technical University of Munich, KIT Karlsruhe, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen (HAWK), Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, the University of Koblenz, and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

During the meeting, Maleachi Bühringer, Managing Director of Refratechnik Holding GmbH and Board Member of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung, presented the activities of the Refratechnik Group, which, as Europe’s largest owner-managed company, produces refractory ceramics on every continent.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Helge Jansen, member of the Scientific Advisory Board, gave a presentation on the topic “Refractory R&D in Europe – Today and in the Future.”

Following this, the scholarship recipients received an introduction to the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung’s areas of activity and an engaging tour of the anniversary exhibition Future Horizons. In the evening, there was ample opportunity for networking and mutual exchange.
