Silvia Levenson in conversation with Dr. Petra Giloy-Hirtz

The artist and activist, who was born in Buenos Aires in 1957 and went into exile at the age of twenty-three under the pressure of the Argentine military dictatorship, has always
used the potential of glass as a narrative medium. By invitation of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung, Silvia Levenson, today living in Italy, describes with photographs and video sequences Identidad desaparecida (Recovered Identity)—her
lifelong project about the stolen and through the protests of the „ Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo“ sometimes recovered children—as well as other work in which she combines art with socio-political commitment. She is particular interested in issues such as forced migration and violence against women.

The event will be held in English.
