Robin Rhode in conversation with Dr. Petra Giloy-Hirtz

Robin Rhodes painting ground is the wall. Influenced by street art aesthetics, he works on a wide variety of stone verticals in outdoor spaces. Rhode is a master at compressing complex and socially critical content into reduced visual signs. He records the individual development steps of his wall works photographically. Placed in sequence, these photographs become iconic pictorial stories.
Robin Rhode studied at the University of Johannesburg and the Association of Film and Dramatic Arts (AFDA) from 1996 to 2001. His work has been shown in museums worldwide.
