Almost exactly 100 years ago, the popsicle was patented in America. At the same time, the first Italian ice cream parlors opened in Europe. Drawing on his extensive knowledge gastrosopher Dr. Peter Peter traces the history of ice cream and its spread with numerous anecdotes in the refreshing and slim volume “Gelato – Italian Ice Age”, published in February 2026 by Klaus Wagenbach Verlag.
On the occasion of the reading and discussion, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung will present, exclusively for one evening alone, the popsicle from its collection created in 2017 by glass artist Felicitas Fäßler (*1989).
