Calligraphy workshop
Australian word clouds and a Carolingian ride to Hell
A handful of artworks in FUTURE HORIZONS feature striking characters: from medieval monastic script and rudimentary carvings to elegant Japanese calligraphy and contemporary block lettering.
After an introduction to the works with word in the exhibition, workshop participants will explore creative calligraphy using a wide variety of writing implements such as brushes, glass nibs, and Petersen-Gröger’s original “crazy tools.” With these, participants will design several of their own sheets of calligraphic writing. After a joint lunch snack, these sheets will be bound together into individual booklets to be taken home.
Eveline Petersen-Gröger is a calligrapher and lecturer in calligraphy at various institutions. She studied experimental calligraphy under Professor Gottfried Pott at HAWK Hildesheim and has a penchant for screen printing and writing with “crazy tools.”
Petersen-Gröger works at the “Writing Atelier” at Montblanc in Hamburg.
28.00 EUR p. p. including a short guided tour, all materials, and lunch.
The number of participants is limited to 15.
The ticket will be sent by email.
No shipping costs apply.
