About this Podcast
For years, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has been collecting, preserving, and researching glass in the context of contemporary art. What began in December 2000 as a vision—to sustainably strengthen the neglected, overlooked, or even unique and special aspects of art and science—has now become one of the most significant collections of contemporary glass in art worldwide.

The anniversary exhibition Future Horizons: Glass in Contemporary Art brings together sculptures and installations by around 50 international artists. The third season of the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung podcast takes you on a journey through this art collection and the fascinating world of working with glass in contemporary art. Each episode features artists from the exhibition or experts who work with glass in contemporary art.

Silvia Levenson and Recovered Identity

A pair of green children’s socks, a blue onesie, a red bib—baby clothes, laid out flat against the wall: hundreds of pieces made of colorful glass. Modelled after clothing from the collection of the Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo. For nearly 30 years, Silvia Levenson has been creating these glass baby clothes—as a reminder of a dictatorship she herself experienced. Silvia Levenson is one of the artists whose work has helped shape the Alexander Tutsek Foundation’s collection from the very beginning. Her works have been shown in several of the foundation’s exhibitions—including “So Much Love and Compassion” (2023) and “Love, Maybe” (2025). At the heart of this collaboration is the ongoing series “Recovered Identity”: The Alexander Tutsek Foundation acquired the series in 2018, which at the time consisted of 118 glass baby garments. Since then, this series has grown—with every recovered identity. Today it comprises 133 pieces. A living archive that Silvia Levenson adds to year after year.
