Haus der Kunst

Long-Term Funding as Major Supporter

The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has been a partner and major supporter of Haus der Kunst in Munich since 2016. After initially funding individual projects in the field of photography, the foundation made the decision in 2016 to make its support comprehensive and long-term.

The foundation initially funded individual projects in the field of photography: in 2015, the exhibition of artist Stan Douglas and in 2016, the exhibition of James Casebere. It then made the decision to make its funding comprehensive and long-term.

The funding is intended to help Haus der Kunst continue to pursue and expand its innovative approach. Initially set up for three years, the foundation has decided to continue substantial funding for the second time in a row in 2021. For the next three years, the foundation has pledged an annual sum in the mid-six-figure range to the Munich museum. Without exception, the funding will go toward the artistic program, educational work, and research activities. In addition, the foundation plans to support individual projects of the exhibition house beyond this funding. The cooperation between the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung and Haus der Kunst is another important component of the foundation’s support for the arts, alongside its own museum operations and its support for art academies.
