Bild-Werk Frauenau e.V.
Three-Year Funding of the International Summer Academy
From 2018 to 2020, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has funded the International Summer Academy of Bild-Werk Frauenau e.V. for three years. The institution offers courses and workshops for artistic training and work with glass. Since its founding, it has only been able to be maintained by board members, staff and course instructors compensating for financial shortfalls through volunteer work. The funding from the Alexander Tutsek Foundation is intended to provide planning security and create a free space to develop sustainable concepts for securing the future of Bild-Werk Frauenau.
Bild-Werk Frauenau is a regional and international forum for glass and visual arts in the glassmaking town of Frauenau in eastern Bavaria. The courses of the International Summer Academy and other workshops focus on artistic and craft work with hot and cold glass, complemented by traditional and new design methods, especially in the visual arts. The Academy attracts artists from many countries of Eastern and Western Europe and the world. It enjoys worldwide fame for its creative exchange atmosphere and specific artistic profile.
"Between 2018 and 2020, funding from the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung has enabled Bild-Werk Frauenau to initiate fundamental structural changes, setting the course for the creation of a sustainable, more stable and professional institution serving international art and culture in Glas." Sarah Höchstetter, Managing Director Bild-Werk Frauenau e.V.
