In addition to its ongoing commitment as the main supporter of Haus der Kunst, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung exclusively sponsored the comprehensive Thomas Struth exhibition at Munich's Haus der Kunst in 2018.
The retrospective entitled Thomas Struth: Figure Ground covered all phases of Thomas Struth’s outstanding as well as consistent artistic achievement over the past four decades. His photographs explore the world through various thematic series based on different social and societal issues. The most recent works, following series of museum photographs (Museum Photographs), primeval forests (New Pictures from Paradise), or family studies (Family Portraits), focus on the field of science and technology. These photographs of research facilities, chemical companies, space stations raise disturbing questions about the development of humanity.
