International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung presents the latest results of the Female Artist and Child grant program. In the second round of this one-year scholarship,  impressive works using contemporary glass as a medium were created by the end of 2025. Ranging from an experimental “AI Blob” transferred into a glass object to translucent delicate flowers. The five artists—Jouyoung Paek, Julie Favreau, Lulu MacDonald, Masami Hirohata, and Miriam Yammad—used the past year to realize extraordinary projects in their studios, workshops, and hot shops. What is the Female Artist and Child funding program about?
The five female artists, who all work with glass and are mothers of children not yet of school age, received a monthly stipend of €5,000 for one year to devote themselves to their artistic work and develop concrete career prospects.
With this project, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung aims to give mothers the freedom to master the challenge of combining children and art.
The generous funding enables the artists to receive comprehensive childcare and gives them the freedom to rent a studio, take courses, or go on training trips. This offers the artists the opportunity to experiment, develop artistically, and implement their own projects.
