Exhibition tip for the summer - On View – Encounters with the Photographic
The Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich is currently hosting the exhibition On View – Encounters with the Photographic, which has received substantial funding from the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung. This show is dedicated to the important photographic holdings of the Sammlung Moderne Kunst (Modern Art Collection) and comprises around 250 works by over 60 artists from the last hundred years to the present day. Among them are works by Bernd and Hilla Becher, Karl Blossfeldt, Candida Höfer, Nicholas Nixon, Thomas Struth, Tracey Moffatt, and Paul Mpagi Sepuya.
On View highlights the development of the photography collection since its inception and, for the first time, brings together milestones in 20th- and 21st-century artistic photography. The exhibition, curated by Simone Förster and Franziska Kunze, will be on view until October 12, 2025.
