Der Greif Issue 19
Guest Editor Zanele Muholi
The Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung is delighted to support this year’s Issue 19 of Der Greif, guest-edited by Zanele Muholi.
Under the title “I Am Because of You, Mother Earth,” Muholi’s curatorial vision calls on artists and writers to shift their perspective and view the environment not as something external to us, but as something in which we live and which we carry within us. Since 2006, Muholi has been documenting the lives and resilience of South Africa’s LGBTQIA+ communities and is committed to educational activism, community service, and youth development. They received the prestigious Hasselblad Award in March 2026 and will be featured in a solo exhibition at Foto Arsenal Wien starting this September.
Zanele Muholi and Der Greif invite photographers, writers, poets, and contributors worldwide to submit entries whose work engages with the environment as a lived experience and transcends disciplinary and national boundaries.
Selected contributors will be published in Der Greif Issue 19, receive copies of the publication, and be included in a comprehensive program of events surrounding Paris Photo 2026 and beyond.
Der Greif is an award-winning international platform for contemporary photography based in Munich. Through open calls, Der Greif offers photographers from around the world the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience and the professional art world.
Submissions are still being accepted until 20 June 2026 here.
