And the winner is …

C/O Berlin Talent Award 2025

The winner of the C/O Berlin Talent Award 2025 in the Artist category is Helsinki-based artist Sheung Yiu (*1991, Hong Kong). The C/O Berlin Talent Award in the Theorist category was won by London-based writer, editor, and researcher Megan Williams (*1995, UK). As the main sponsor of both awards, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung warmly congratulates the two winners!

In his award-winning project (Inter)Faces of Predictions, Sheung Yiu examines how faces are used in different cultures and technological contexts to predict character traits and the future. Using an analysis of his own face, he shows how both historical belief systems and modern algorithmic processes reproduce similar prejudices and stereotypical ideas. The project invites us to think critically about the way we interpret faces and the assumptions we make in doing so.

Megan Williams impressed the C/O Berlin jury with her clear-sighted and innovative reflections on how new imaging technologies not only perpetuate existing power relations, but also raise fundamental questions about visibility, control, and truth.

The exhibition (Inter)faces of Predictions. C/O Berlin Talent Award 2025 is on view at C/O Berlin until June 10, 2026. A monographic publication has also been published by Spector Books as part of the project.

Since 2020 the C/O Berlin Talent Award has been made possible by the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung. Here you can find more information about the current award winners and the exhibition.
